What are Window Energy Ratings?

Window Energy Ratings (WERs) are similar to the energy efficiency labels found on kitchen appliances like fridges and washing machines.

An A+ rated window is the highest rating you can get and current Building Regulations (Part L 2010) require all domestic replacement windows to be rated at C or above.

Most existing double glazed windows, even those installed in the last 10 years (when the first energy efficient windows were introduced) will only be an E rating at best.
